Researcher. Educator. Microscopy lover. Lifelong learner.

“If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”

-Isaac Newton

Who am I?

My name is Lydia, and I’m a Pittsburgh-based postdoctoral fellow. Starting in January 2025, my independent laboratory will open in the Department of Comparative Medicine at Yale School of Medicine.

A proud Meyerhoff Scholar and product of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, my passion for research has steadily grown since I began working at the bench in 2008. My training has spanned cell biology, reproductive biology, neuroscience, and endocrinology. Science communication and training/inspiring the next generation of scientists are among my passions. In my own lab, I’m excited to cultivate an environment that empowers everyone to bring their authentic selves to work - which is how the best science is done. I look forward to recruiting and collaborating with the best and brightest in the years to come!
